About me

I’ve always believed that the best fiction shows the truth of what it means to be a human being.  The common thread that runs through all of my writing is the individual’s struggle to make peace with a contentious life. I write novels and short stories for adult audiences, but have been known to dabble in flash fiction and poetry, mainly for my own entertainment. Sometimes I blog.

You can call me Rebecca, Becca or Bex, but not Becky! I was born in Colorado, raised mostly in Northern California, came to Edinburgh in 1994 to study social anthropology, found myself at home and never left. In various incarnations, I have been a bartender, horse trainer, teacher, social researcher, community development practitioner, and local government dogsbody. I live outside of Edinburgh with my husband Craig, son Jamie and daughter Susanna.
